October 10th, 2003 will be remembered as a very special day in the history of M.G.D., as this day witnessed the grand Inauguration and Felicitation Ceremony of the Diamond Jubilee Celebrations. The day started with the arrival of her Highness Rajmata Gayatri Deviji Sahiba of Jaipur to the School campus. As she got down from her car, our principal Dr.(Mrs) G.D.Bakshi and Administrative Officer Air Cmde.(Retd.) N.K.Mathur were there to greet her.

Soon she got into a stately Cadillac, along with Dr. (Mrs.) G.D. Bakshi and Air Cmde (retd.) N.K.Mathur. As the car slowly inched its way forward, it was greeted by a row of mounted riders dressed in their finest regalia. Students awaited her. They showered flowers on her and shouted “Rajmata Sahiba ki Jai” Jubilantly. At the site for the Inauguration of the foundation stone ceremony, all the members of the board of Governors, members of the M.G.D. Guild, Senior teachers and students awaited her arrival with alacrity. Her highness unveiled the foundation stone while a soulful rendition of Ganesh Vandana sung in the background along with the chanting of vedic mantras. This was followed by tea after which Her highness was presented the Guard of Honour by the NCC girls.

The traditional welcome accorded to Rajmata Sahiba by the girls dressed in Rajasthani attire. Soon her highness offered Poorna Ahuti to the ongoing Yajna. After lighting the Ceremony lamp, the felicitation ceremony began. The felicitation was followed by an entertainment programme and then lunch.
